With the Punches - Stoneham Blues

Album artwork and music video for some long time friends With the Punches.

I first met the band when I was about 15 years old and stayed in touch ever since. After taking almost a decade off from releasing music, they hit me up to design the single artwork for the second release off their top-secret comeback EP, Discontent.

After wrapping the artwork the band wondered if I’d be down to try something I had never done before: Direct, shoot and edit the music video for the song.

While I never intended to turn video into freelance work, I couldn’t say no to my long time friends. Thankfully, what they hit me with was a straight skate video concept inspired by the 411VM era of skateboarding.

With the help of some friends that also grew up on WTP, I shot a few hours worth of footage to mash together what became the Stoneham Blues music video.

This was my first time shooting, directing, editing, color grading, and animating for any project of this scale. After the first few weeks the video had broken through the 100k view threshhold on youtube and has seen a steady climb since.
